Meraki Mx105 lets see if we can figure this out

ok I got my hand on this fine piece of gear
taken it apart

messed with it a bit now has anyone else looked into this at all

its a intel xeon 2.4ghz D-1623N has 8G of DDR ram on a sodimm
before I go poking around with a dmm and a logic analyzer for a uart
I was hoping someone might have some info

the Mx100 is supported and its also a Xeon albeit a bit older but the network hardware looks similar
has a Marvel chip for sure I haven't identified everything on it yet but I figured I would get the discussion going would be nice to pull another Meraki device from the scrap pile at Cisco

is the storage removable ?
if it is, simply dd an openwrt image for x86_64 to it, and see if it boots, when you put it back.

post a photo of the PCB, too.

Next time I am working on it I will pull the PCB out and remove the other heat sink

Just between the cpu and the from panel üThere is a 2*5 header I believe is JTAG and next to it is a 4 pin one that I think might UART

Have fun, that SmartFusion2 chip is the Cisco ACT2 chip, so a hardware secure boot implementation. If it's like other Meraki boards, it sits as a MITM on the SPI bus for the BIOS, and validates it. It also stores the keys for validating signed OS images.
