Manually restarting an interface such as wg0

I made some edits to /etc/config/network specifically adding some new clients to my wireguard instance. What is the correct way to trigger a restart of that specific interface? Interestingly, running /etc/init.d/network restart did not seem to accomplish it.

ifup wg0 and ifdown can be used on individual interfaces....
