Recently I flashed openwrt in my cudy wr3000 and everything works fine but i want to filter the mac address
my ssid is hidden and i want to filter mac address also but when i select mac address and save& applied the ssid does not show on my phone.
is this a bug or something i am doing wrong.
please if anyone know about it help me !
What's the reason behind this?
Neither hiding the ssid nor using a mac filter are any useful security measures.
With the right tools, anybody could see which devices are using your hidden wlan.

i thought it would be great hidden ssid with mac filter, but when i do so it doesn't work, my phone can't find the ssid
i was so confused what i am doing wrong u know.
i am googling so much for it to work. for the extra security purpose, yes i know i can use long pass but mac filter with hidden ssid would be nice for me.
other thing is i also tried to use mac filter with visible ssid.
it also doesn't work for me but why?
pls if u guys know something share
i would be glad to know.
Modern phones use random MAC for scanning, mac acl is thing of the past. You can use random wifi MAC addresses to somewhat opt away from the lcalisation.
