Luci luci2 vs legacy cgi for webui

this is a really dumb question, for those who do not need the advanced setting provided by luci, does writing a simple webUI using some ajax along with legacy cgi methods make sense? this way I do not need any of those luci/lua-related modules that takes time for a newbie to swallow for unneeded complexities.

Probably you can use luci-mod-rpc...

Also probably interesting for you:

yeah I knew both, luci-mod-rpc I think pulled in all those luci while I do not need any lua framework on the server side, not a lua fan.

oui is not using cgi I think...maybe uhttp-mod-ubus which is close, at least not using luci framework
