Low speed after setup OpenWRT 23.05.4

Hi! I have Asus RT-AX59U. I install OWRT by guiade from wiki. Firmware work good, but after that i have low speed. By cabel i had 700-800mb speed, on OWRT i have 93-97mb. On wifi 5ghz i had 250-300mb, now 93-90mb. I enable software offloading, not help. What i do wrong?

Almost guaranteed to be a faulty cable. Check/replace the cable, also check the ports for any physical damage, bent pins, or debirs.

Do you read my topic? I use cabel on my old router and get 700-800 by lan cabel. If i change router on my ax59u with OWRT i get 90-93. My asus router new, today from box.

Just because the cable works when connected to one router doesn't mean that it won't have issues when connected to another if the cable is marginal. The physical movement of the cable to connect to a different device could be enough in some cases to cause just one conductor to fail to conduct. Similarly, debris, bent pins, or other factors could come into play.

I personally had a situation where I had a connection to a switch that seemed to be running at gigabit speeds. When I changed to a new switch, it wouldn't properly negotiate a link -- it was constantly bouncing the port. The problem was in one of the patches, and when I fixed the cables, things worked perfectly.

So... replace the cable. Try again. It's a simple step to take to rule it in/out as a culprit.

I say this with both experience and the fact that the exact range of your speed tests matches perfectly to the maximum practical throughput of 100Mbps ethernet.

I understand you, you are right about the exact speed indicators. I will check the Ethernet cable for defects.

  • PC connected to routers LAN port
  • PC connected to routers wifi

Please connect to your OpenWrt device using ssh and copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </> " button:

Remember to redact passwords, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:

ubus call system board
cat /etc/config/network
cat /etc/config/wireless
cat /etc/config/dhcp
cat /etc/config/firewall

~90-94 MBit/s on a router that can do (a lot) more than that) is just a tell tale sign, pretty much a canary, that the port (probably on the wan side) has dropped to 100BASE-T instead of 1000BASE-T - and one of the most common reasons for that is cable side. So replacing that temporarily (and carefully checking all four ends of the connectors/ ports involved for damage/ debris is the easiest first step of debugging.
