Linksys WRT3200ACM Encryption Cipher

I have 2 routers:

  • YouHua WR1200JS
  • Linksys WRT3200ACM

My YouHua router can use psk-mixed+tkip+ccmp encryption just fine.

But the Linksys router simply vanishes (no SSID showing up) as soon as I switch to psk-mixed+tkip+ccmp and reboot. When I set it to auto, it picks up CCMP cipher and works just fine.

Is there something I am missing?

There are known issues with WRT3200ACM and WPA3 in 21.02.x. Use WPA2+AES. TKIP is less secure.

The chipset / driver does not support WPA3.

Yes that is the most secure choice you have. WPA2 is still secure if the password is strong.
