I'm trying to install OpenWrt on a Linksys MR7350 from a Windows 11 PC. Current stock firmware is v1.1.7.209317/
Issue Summary
Factory Reset Fails: Multiple attempts (button hold 10-60s, 30-30-30 method, Web UI reset) don't clear custom WiFi SSID/password. After reset, still connects with old credentials; no default SSID (LinksysXXXXX) or setup wizard. Router responsive, but settings persist (NVRAM glitch?).
Web UI Flash Blocked: Uploading OpenWrt factory .bin gives "Unexpected Error: The firmware update did not complete successfully" with JSON: {"result": "ErrorUpgradeFailed"}.
Steps Tried (No Success)
Factory Resets: Extended button holds (30-60s while powered on/off), power cycles—WiFi unchanged.
Failing to reset stock firmware is not an Openwrt issue.
Nothing to do with Linksys router, please read the booklet from the box.
download and reflash factory 2 times. this way you are gauranteed to reflash both partitions with factory. I am just making sure the router is completely factory since I do not know your starting point and this is guaranteed. i have had bad flashes on this router compared to others. Next download 25.12.0-rc2 (or rc3 or… latest when you do) from the firmware selector. Best results flash with ethernet in a lan port and wifi disabled on your computer.
You probably know this but will type it out for anyone else reading this. From factory make sure you flash openwrt factory image. You will reboot to the flashed partition.
There is a bug on the MR7350 to flash the second partition. to flash the alternate partition on this router, see the post below.
hopefully this does help.
