I tried to get my account approved to edit the wiki but I have not yet received any response, so here goes.
I'm finally back in the WRT-game after ditching my Linksys WRT54GL, with DD-WRT, back in 2014, because it lacked the performance to support more bandwidth.
I just recieved a Linksys EA7300 and got OpenWrt up and running on it. What a fantastic operating system!
What I learned during the installation was that the wiki (https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/ea7300_v2) is missing a vital tip regarding the possibility to boot from partition 2 by using the OEM web-interface.
If you head to "Troubleshooting" -> "Diagnostics" and click on "Restore previous firmware" it will boot from partition 2 after rebooting. Then you do not have to depend on the factory image from Linksys (which is not available on the Linksys website anymore) or the power-cycle method.
I was doubting if the router could support my 1000/500 Mbps cabled connection. Here is some speedtest documentation with/without flow offloading:
