After updateing the firmware on my Linkit Smart 7688 what can i expect?

The official Firmware produces a Wifi Accesspoint to connect to, and configure the Wifi to be a Wifi-Client of my home-Wifi.

Can i expect that behavor when flashing a openWRT official build like this?

You should not expect that behavior!

OpenWrt does not enable WiFi by default.
