LEDE on TL-WA901ND V5 install how-to?

Hi there!

I´d like to install LEDE on my TL-WA901ND V5 because the device get´s not original firmware updates anymore.

In the forums (https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wa901nd#installation) there are just instructions for the V1.
Are there any how-to´s or instructions to install LEDE for the V5 versions via Web-interface?

Any hints appreciated!

Did you check the section that says:

Version 5.x

Same as in v4 but different, two tiny resistors (R162, R164) that connect the serial console pads towards the CPU are not placed, you need to solder two tiny bridges for the serial to work from the pads! See the detail picture below.

115200 8N1, software flow control, TTL levels....

???

There are no install-instructions in V4. As far as I can see there are just instructions to modify the hardware to connect a serial console, which is not necessary to install LEDE/OpenWRT as far as I understand.

...then have you tired to load the image on the Web Console???

I have not tried anything until now, because I am looking for safe/reliable instructions - I do not want to brick my device.

Which image should i load then?

You should always ONLY load the file for your device:

https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/17.01.4/targets/ar71xx/generic/lede-17.01.4-ar71xx-generic-tl-wa901nd-v4-squashfs-factory.bin

VERIFY YOU HAVE A TL-WA901ND V5...IF SO, YOU AGREE IT'S THE SAME AS V4...THEREFORE, THIS SHOULD BE YOUR IMAGE FILE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Also, your device only has 4MB of flash, see: https://openwrt.org/supported_devices/432_warning
