Hello I'm fairly new to OpenWRT. I have just installed it on my new router, and I'm having issues keeping a consistent internet connection. This didn't occur before installing the firmware and/or with a different router (stock firmware). Pinging "google.com" on a LAN-connected device shows replies followed by "Request timed out" before doing the same thing all over again. Local pings seem to have no issues. I can provide any logs needed. As I initially stated, I'm quite new here, and I'm not sure exactly what information I need to provide at the start.
It seems that this test was run from a computer that is connected to your OpenWrt device, right?
What is upstream of your WAX202? Is it a modem? Modem-router combo? Something else?
Please connect to your OpenWrt device using ssh and copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </> " button:
Remember to redact passwords, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:
Yes, it was run from my desktop which is connected via ethernet to the router. Upstream from the router is a router from my ISP (and that router is plugged into a modem).

This is an RFC1918 address, so it is actually safe to post here (I asked you to redact just in case you had a public IP).
I'm going to guess that you've got 192.168.1.xxx as the address there.
What's happening is you have a subnet conflict -- you need to change your OpenWrt router's lan becaue the subnet must be different on the wan vs the lan.
you could use, for example, 192.168.5.1 for the OpenWrt lan address, basically anything other than 192.168.1.x.
Is there are reason you are keeping the ISP router in place? You should consider removing that, and connecting your OpenWrt router directly to the modem.
The main reason is that this is supposed to be a dedicated VR router for my Quest 2 for my desktop, otherwise, I'd have to agree I would definitely prefer to do that.
