Is Linksys E8450 stable enough now?

I was looking to buy a new Wi-Fi router for my gigabit connection and was wondering if OpenWRT firmware for Linksys E8450 is stable enough now. I read somewhere that an official stable release for the E8450 can be coming soon so please share your thoughts and experiences with the latest snapshot.

Also, are there any better AX Wi-Fi routers that will have OpenWRT support soon?

I've found 22.03.0-rc1 very stable. However I'm using them as wired routers only so can't speak to wifi performance.

I have an old home and therefore it would be a pain to get APs setup due to the wiring. This is the reason I am looking for just a Wi-Fi router.

The x86 recommendation was based primarily on you internet speed....

...and it's very much on topic for the desired speeds.

On 22.03 HEAD here, no complaints whatsoever on mvebu (wired only) and mt7621 (EAP615-Wall MT7915 AX).
