Hii All
Firstly, I want say that I am layman in networking field as I am a civil engineer. I live in a college campus. Here to access the internet, we have to authenticate by username and password, that is internet access is firewall protected using SOPHOS.
Currently I am connecting the LAN to the laptop, then do the authentication and then I am creating the hotspot to use the internet in all other devices, which is a very tedious process. Therefore I want to buy a router.
I want to know, whether it is possible to provide this authentication automatically at the router settings, so that I can use the internet in all the devices without the authentication process? If yes, kindly inform me which router to buy and how to do these type of settings, for this special requirement.

any openwrt supported router should be able to this, the campus network will only see the router as client, everything behind it will be "invisible" to them.
but you want a device with at least two radios.
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/connect_client_wifi
as for devices, have a look at the GL.iNet GL-MT3000, Cudy TR3000 or WR3000.
if you're willing to wait for support (currently WIP), you can grab the LN1301 on Amazon, it's $25.
Take a look at travelmate. It can do what you need.
Thanks for the reply. I have ordered one Router. I have gone through the procedure, no where it is mentioned, when to give input for the username and password for the firewall. Is it somehow by passing the firewall authentication ? Sorry for such questions. I know very less about these things.
no,
you make sure you connect the router to the campus network, then the authentication will be done via the 1st client connecting to internet via the device.
the router won't authenticate for you, you have to authenticate from a client. going trough it.
