Ipv4 peeking at ipv6

ipv4 dino peeking at ipv6, be kind  I’ve been disabling ipv6 forever on everything I use. Everything goes through openvpn ipv4.

Lately, a few essentials (like a few bank and gov sites) have become ip6 only. I solved it by routing through TOR ipv6 exit nodes and/or proxies. But I do not like to do that for essential services.

I’d like to understand the privacy and security issues of ipv6, and how to deal with them on openwrt openvpn client. Can anyone point me to a good guide? Thanks!

Does your ISP support IPv6? Do they hand out a Prefix Delegation (PD) if so what size?
A decent ISP hands out a PD of /56 or even /48, if you have such a PD just use OpenWRT's default settings.

OpenWRT by default also has an IPv6 firewall.

Most lan client e.g your laptop/PC etc will use changing/temporary IPv6 address (IPv6 privacy extensions) so normally you should be good
