IPsec traffic not traversing OpenWrt

Just wanted to share that thanks to the help above, the RaspBerryPi 2 running my on-prem gateway is working very well and consistently at that. I've put together a writeup of the full setup here as well as the trials and errors: Hope this helps folks too.
