Installing OpenWrt on RG-EW3200GX PRO without prior experience

Hello, I am just now learning about openwrt and wanting to install it on my home router.
All of the tutorials that I watched was straight forward, first by downloading the .bin file and flash it on either the web gui or via usb.
When I do decided to finally flash it, I tried to search for RG-EW3200GX PRO's file here , needless to say that the wiki is pretty lacking of any infos. Further more, there are threads on the forum talking about users getting bricked devices after flashing, like this, which only makes me more skeptical.
I need help, or at least something to make sure the same won't happen to my home router.
Thanks in advance

I’d say everything you need to accomplish the task is right there in the wiki for your device under Installation Methods.

It’s not rocket science, but if this is your first exposure to flashing OpenWrt I’d suggest you take time to thoroughly review the git-commit, and generic u-boot, TFTP, Serial install/recovery this device uses.

Hw wise, it's the same as https://openwrt.org/toh/reyee/rg-e5, you should be able to use the guide for opening and connecting to the device.

Then follow the instruction in the git commit, when performing the actual flash.

Thanks for the instruction. But I'm currently stuck on the UART and TFTP. The TFTP seem to have a gui version of window, which is pretty convenient for a starter like me. But the UART seems a little more trivial. Is uart really necessary?

Also, the tutorial seems to also use sysupgrade file, while this is my first installation, is this concerning?

If the instruction say you should use UART and sysupgrade, then that's what you should do.
