Installing OpenWrt on APU2d boards?

I am interested in building a OpenWrt router utilizing an APU2 board. I see here on the site that C boards are the only ones noted as supported, but the C boards have been decommissioned in favor of D boards (and E is also right around the corner). The C boards aren't really available anywhere at this stage.

Anyone have any luck doing an install on a D board?

I have OpenWRT running on my APU2D2 board with no problems

I compile and flash my own builds on APU2D4 and they work perfectly. Just follow the standard x86 installation doc and you can use sysupgrade after that without issue.
