Appears to be the same SoC, but I would definitely not attempt a flash without serial console access.

Do not flash TL-WA801ND V5 ON TL-WA801N V6 it would brick the device. I even tried to revert back to the original firmware from TP-Link but it keeps blinking all the leds. The device is dead.
are you trying to revert by Tftpd
The v6 appears to have only 4/32 memory. It's not suitable for OpenWrt.
