I am now in possession of a Zyxel 5103 with stock firmware V4.19(ABYC.3)C0 installed.
Would be nice to run openwrt on it but i dont have a clue where to start.
I do not have root access, only admin and cant get ssh connection other than zysh.
Any tips to wich of theese to try solder connector for serial on?

Looking at the PCB, those indeed are serial traces but the logic level converters just behind the solder connectors are lacking.
This is certainly a hardening measure to not expose those pins
I was able to catch the firmware during my last update, maybe someone can do something with it (debrand? :D)

There's 3 versions of the nr5103 so far:
nr5103
nr5103eV1
nr5103eV2
The linked firmware is for the nr5103eV1, not the 5GEE NR5103.
I will also have this router. It is very interesting. It looks it has also 2.5gb ports. Or maybe this is only for regular nr5103? Anyway firmware is really minimal. This chinese "openwrt" does anybody have a link? Would be interesting to look into.
