Huawei E3372h Disable Auto Disconnect

Hi,

I have a Huawei E3372h-153 LTE stick with firmware 22.329.62.00.21 and webinterface 17.100.20.0021. It actually works pretty well, but auto disconnects after 120 minutes, which is the maximum I can set in the webinterface.

How can I disable this auto disconnect?

Switch to 21.x "stick" firmware and stop using the webinterface.

Yes, flashing the stick firmware would be a solution.

But the weird thing is, suddenly it works, and the interface is up for more than 12 hours. Could it be that opkg install comgt kmod-usb-serial kmod-usb-serial-option kmod-usb-serial-wwan usb-modeswitch solved my problem? That was the last thing I did if I remember correctly.

Once your modem is running 21.x firmware you need to follow these instructions:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/wwan/ethernetoverusb_ncm

Depending on the modem configuration you may [not] need to use usb-modeswitch

OK, thanks. I will observe it for a few days. If it still disconnects I will flash it and use your link.

OK, I flashed it to the stick firmware wirth this howto https://www.0xf8.org/2017/01/flashing-a-huawei-e3372h-4g-lte-stick-from-hilink-to-stick-mode/

The flash commands need to be executed as root.

My main reason was, that I could not read RSSI values with the Hilink firmware. Now it works perfectly with https://github.com/4IceG/luci-app-3ginfo-lite
