i.e. change /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf and bundle ca-certificates
https support (SSL libraries) are not included by default in the release builds.
Is that due to size limitations?
Yes, furthermore the authenticity of the downloaded packages is end-to-end verified by usign and doesn't require SSL transport encryption to ensure the packages' integrity.
