I have a Netgear 4G router (https://www.netgear.com/uk/home/mobile-wifi/hotspots/mr1100/). I have used it via the internal wifi of the router. I’d like to use it as a modem with a BT Homehub 5a with OpenWrt installed. I’ve googled the issue but I can’t find definitive advice on how to do it. Have I overlooked a source? If not can anyone offer advice? Thanks.
USB tethering, if the M1 supports it, but it'll most likely be capped by the USB2 port (which appear to have power issues) on the BT HH.
Alt use the BT HH as wireless client to the M1, put the uplink connection to the M1 in the wan firewall zone.
Thanks, that’s a useful resource.
Definitely use the Ethernet port for this as the video shows. I don't know if the default configuration of OpenWrt on the HH5 already includes setting aside an Ethernet port as a wan alternative to DSL, but it can be configured that way.
Face palm, completely missed it had one ![]()
