How is the Xiaomi AX3000t OpenWrt performance?

What are the advantages of setting up the AX3000T, and will I experience any issues with signal strength or internet performance? What are the solutions? I plan to use a tool to flash it without bricking. Also, are there users who have experience using the AX3000T with both stock firmware and OpenWrt?

Advantages compared to what? It is SoC capable of handling 2.5GbE, with GbE external ports. Thus a lot of spare CPU time, but little memory. WiFi - mt76 is well supported. 3000Mbps is half-duplex on full channel, typically it is half across all clients.

  • SOC: good vpn client/server
  • RAM: not so good file server, or stuffing containers in it

Last HW generation is unsupported, you may get one if buying fresh now.

I have ax3000t and I'm satisfied with the performance.

As suggested by the others, it's all relative.

The wiki page for ax3000t has instructions to restore to stock. Ensure you take a backup of the old firmware. If you are unsatisfied with openwrt, you can rollback to stock.

Were you able to measure the internet speed?

Am I backing up the software after downgrading?
Does the XMiR‑Patcher tool work well for backing up?

You can, but unip it only if you must back up eg vpn provate keys etc.

If you mean downgrading to use the exploit to install openwrt, you will do a backup as part of the openwrt install.

If I were you, I'd properly understand the process/instructions prior to trying to flash the device.

I used the xmir patcher tool for backup and flashing of my ax3000t. It worked very well for me.

If I don’t take a backup and download the latest EU version from https://openwrt.org/inbox/toh/xiaomi/ax3000t#api_rce_support_status and install it, will there be any issues? I don’t have any important data.

No issues in this case, feel free to create a backup (step 2 from the flash instructions) from the restored stock version.

I heard that on newer RD23(EU) firmware versions, downgrading via the TFTP method is blocked. Is that correct?

Then ask whoever told you that, or check it yourself and let us know.
