I have an issue where my Linksys WRT1900AC router lock-ups and I'm trying to work out which package is causing the RAM usage to shoot up. Is there a quick way I can disable the app without uninstalling it?

You can disable startup items using LuCI, or by removing the symlinks in /etc/rc.d (assuming you don't disable something important, like network).
Status->Processes (or ps on the command line) could show which process is using a lot of RAM.
