i tried this tutorial (https://youtu.be/RtqVKNfuxWM) on my tp-wr840n5v router with no success, i got different putty logs & still in boot loop

The YouTube is for version 9, your post states you have a version 5.

First, let's make sure you have the correct firmware:

Please refrain from making multiple topics for the same issue - it's quite confusing. I believe the mods have fixed the situation for you at this time.

  • Can you attempt to simply boot the image instead of flash it?

EDIT: By the way, I looked though the video you posted above...at no point did I see OpenWrt firmware used. Why did you use the serial procedure?

  • Did you brick your router using the procedure in the video...or are you trying to UNBRICK your router using that video?
  • Are you trying to flash the OEM firmware, or OpenWrt firmware?

What files did you use?

Let me be more clear. Why are you using the procedure for a version 9, instead of a version 5 (which you own)?

i run putty & write tftpboot then ctrl+c to escape
it shows that it search for:

  1. TFTP from server 192.168.0.225
  2. Filename 'test.bin'.
  3. Load address: 0x81000000

so i setup PC IP, run tftpd64 & rename the firmware https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/tp-link/tp-link_tl-wr840n_v5
then run putty & write tftpboot, it download file to router [ Bytes transferred = 3735729 (3900b1 hex) ]

but my problem when i tried to flash and copy it do nothing as following
MT7628 # erase 0x81000000 3900b1
Usage:
erase - erase SPI FLASH memory

MT7628 # cp.b 0x81000000 0x9f020000 3900b1

Copy 0x81000000 to 0x9F020000, count 0x3900B1....
MT7628 # reset

and goes again to bootloop and it not same as youtube video

is there any solution?
