GL.iNET Flint 2 (GL-MT6000) discussions

With r27160 my download speed via WiFi is fine (around 900Mbit) but the upload is reduced to around 100Mbit. I'm also running WG, but via wired I'm getting the full speed.

Honestly, too much bugs in R27160. My android TV failed to connect via IPv6, and thus some of channels were inaccesible.
I was so annoyed I reverted back to the 23.05.4 build.

I seem to observe a delayed hang after using the command wifi, devices keep in a state it doesn't deauth/disconnect.

2.4ghz seem not to be restored on the multi psk configuration for me after this command, i have to restart router, this is on r27227 (i compiled from master from this commit).

Anyone else can confirm?

Yea, mt76 wifi got a big update for the driver and firmware, but if you follow the mt76 changelog on github Nbd has been fixing some bugs in the new driver. I would give it some time on snapshot builds, at least until the fixes are commmited to main branch.

Yup, for my issue i found a fix and reverted one commit here but i don't know for the other issues if they also are gone without this commit.

Woohoo

Now we wait

So I was trying to reference the issue and comment, but link auto-magically changed... But that is indeed the commit I was trying to reference, thanks!

The wait might be longer than usual as the "Build kernel" stage is failing for many devices:

Now I have a reason why the build is failing.. thanks!

Latest snapshot fixes multicast. for now my esp devices show up again in esphome

I concur. Today’s snapshot returns function to HomeKit.

Still no mesh though.

6.0 Mbit/s, 20 MHz
6.0 Mbit/s, 20 MHz

EDIT: It seems like wireless wants to work but it's unreliable for me. Devices take a long time to connect then the connection speed fluctuates. Mesh did jump to 80MHz and one side at 1441Mbit/s but no connectivity between the two routers.

I just flashed SNAPSHOT r27201 and right now I do see 802.11s mesh work, although this is a BATMAN mesh.

Which version are you using?

EDIT: What happens if you hit restart radios?

I haven't tried that, just rebooting the routers. I rolled back to a working version so won't have an opportunity until the next time I decide to update.

Has anyone pulled in the new firmware in from 65bbd4c394? Has been running well for 2 days now on a my flogic/xiaomi_redmi-router-ax6000-ubootmod which also uses the mt798x hardware.

I loaded that firmware manually a few months ago. I haven't noticed any problems. It seems slightly more stable during iperf tests, but I haven't confirmed.

What is the url to the upstream firmware? The linux-firmware repo seems to contain the older version from 2022.

EDIT: Ah, I think it's git01.mediatek.com

It just so happens that mediatek just updated the firmware within the past day. commit 0fdbc0e6d84bbc0216da2842a494bdf01f745c6c

Is this Firmware Update also useful/usable for 23.05.3 or 23.05.4?
