Yup, that appears also on my Xiaomi AX3000T.
Did not noticed any similar logs, perhaps because I am using ac only?
There is a bug report open for it:
What build are you running, because I'm not getting it on 24.10 branch (at least not in the past couple weeks). I was seeing it on earlier snapshots from October, but I mentioned on that link mine seems to be fixed.
Has anyone had issues with the 2x 2.5GB ports on the MT6000? Mine keep dropping my WAN connection every 10-15 mins. When my WAN port is routed via the 1GB ports all works fine. I am 70mb "copper" internet at the moment but I am wondering if its either:
- Driver issue
- My line may be dodgy with 2.5GB ports?
- My MT6000 may be faulty?
- Some setting in OpenWRT needs changed?
Same thing happens when I have the Glinet OS installed.
I can provide a error log but want to know if anyone else has had issues with their 2.5GB ports?
I'm hoping the newer version of OpenWRT will fix this issue.
Iām running my own master build from somewhere around early Oct '24. It should be running a later codebase of mt76/hostapd/nl80211 compared to 24.10 snapshots as I remember 24.10 was branched before my build from a master pull.
24.10 was branched last day of October then a bunch of additional fixes were ported since. Sysupgrade to 24.10.0-rc2 when it comes out tomorrow and try again because those errors went away for me sometime between then and now. edit: running now rc2 still getting those errors occationally.
Ok. Let me pull from master again and do another build.
Thanks a lot!
Edit:
Latest build didnāt resolve the issue unfortunately. Logs still showing the same error.
Hmm perhaps it's specific to certain APs connected to it then. For mine the log spam is gone.
Mine only has devices connected to it, and it's mainly Apple's devices.
Mainly Apple devices? My condolences . Although testing it now on rc1 with my iPhone 15 and not seeing a single one of those errors in the log. Weird.
edit: @quarky I spoke to soon, seeing a bit of this log spam in rc2 now too.
Hi folks, I'm a new owner of the GL-MT6000. It's been a while since I used a router with OpenWRT, so please bear with me
I've got all my devices running (mostly) the way they should be, but I'm really sturggling to get IPTV to work. I've installed igmproxy and followed instructions, but still to no avail.
I am going to try upgrading to an OpenWRT image as the stock one seems very old (21.02). The latest OpenWRT image for this router I believe is 23.05.5. I'm not entirely sure what benefits this brings, or why the stock latest firmware is so old, but it's worth a try to see if I can get the IPTV fixed. I'm also not too impressed with the WiFI coverage, so hopefully that improves too.
I understand the best method of upgrade is to use sysupgrade on the standed GL.iNet web interface. This apparently retains the GL.iNet web interface, which is actually ok.
I am running AdGuard. Will this method cause any issues with it? Does sysupgrade reset all your settings and can they be restored if I back them up? I did a backup via the Luci interface.
Really appreciate the help here. The IPTV not working is a deal breaker for me, so I really hope this will fix it!
Thanks
Yes, sysupgrade is your friend.
No, the gui will be OpenWrt LuCI.
You will need to sysupgrade without settings.
And you need to reinstall adguard from new OpenWrt.
Thanks! I thought I read on here that the GUI was retained, but I guess I misread.
Thanks, but I can restore my settings from backup after the upgrade?
That's no problem. It's easy enough to do anyway. Thanks!
No, gl.inet is different than the proper OpenWrt.
You need to recreate settings from scratch.
hi,
I'm also a new owner, is it possible that this device does not have the power on/off button?
Thats correct, it does not have an on/off button. You will have to unplug the cable or get one of the extension cables with on/off switch (see note2):
https://openwrt.org/toh/gl.inet/gl-mt6000#notes
Actually, I find that Appleās devices are quite well behaved when it comes to wireless communications. Heh heh.
I think I see a pattern here. When a device gets disconnected from WiFi, e.g. when my computer is turned off or a device moves out of WiFi range, these logs start coming out.
Look like hostapd is not reporting the these events upwards to the mt76 driver or thereās a bug with hostapd tracking of station association, or mt76 has a bug managing device associations.
I do occasionally see turned off devices still showing up in the routerās console as active tho., so likely this is connected as well. It does look to me as a mt76 driver issue.
Iāll add these thoughts into the GitHub issue.
Hi. Iām tinkering with a new MT-6000.
If doing both, is it good practice to upgrade the firmware before the bootloader or the other way around? I donāt think it makes any difference but wanted to know your thoughts.
I would like to practice flashing the bootloader. Can the preloader.bin followed by bl31-uboot.fip listed below be used in the OEM U-Boot Update GUI detailed in the āUpgrade the Uboot versionā section here?
- openwrt-mediatek-filogic-glinet_gl-mt6000-preloader.bin
- openwrt-mediatek-filogic-glinet_gl-mt6000-bl31-uboot.fip
Or can the above files only be used to overwrite the bl2 and fip partitions using CLI?
Iām aware of the brick-risk but I need to become familiar with bootloader admin. I welcome words of advice before I begin.
I have fiber internet, with 2.5 Gbps ethernet. I'm using the MT6000, stock firmware and i get just under 2.5 Gbps up and down in speedtest.
Will I still have 2.5 Gbps after installing openwrt on the MT6000?
