is there any option to gain access to the uar?

If you are able to read but not write you have to idenitify the RXD pin which is usually on the same connector.
I got access to GEMTEK WLTQS-103 which has the following pin assignment:

  1. VCC (with the dot) you may leave unconnected
  2. TXD which is supposed to be already connected since you receive UART data
  3. RXD (you have to connect to laptop TXD)
  4. GND be sure to connect it.
