FriendlyELEC NanoPi R76S

Looks like FriendlyELEC just released the NanoPi R76S: https://www.cnx-software.com/2025/07/08/nanopi-r76s-dual-2-5gbe-sbc-and-router-supports-up-to-16gb-lpddr5-m-2-wifi-module-hdmi-2-0-video-output/

From a performance and cost standpoint it is less powerful than the R6C/R6S but more powerful than the R5C and R3S. DTS files for the Rockchip RK3576 are already in the mainline kernel so it shouldn't be difficult to get OpenWRT running on it either.

This might be something I'd get. I could move my R5C into a cold standby and go with one of these for a bit more power.

I hope to add support for R76S and RK3576 soon

Hmm I think that “to” might have been intended as a “they” which is understandable but changes the meaning entirely

Found this one posted it in the other thread too:

RK3576 Mainline Kernel support status page from Collabora

This chip uses similar components like the RK3588 which should speed up kernel development significantly. By looking at the current status, I can see that the HW crypto engine is still on the todo list.

Is it technically feasible to run OpenWrt on it or do we need to wait on the HW crypto engine for that ?
