This commit adds an ethernet port status overview to the main status page.

The design should theoretically scale to many ports. Below is a mock up created by repeating the six original ports multiple times:

Logical network membership and detailled statistics are exposed as tooltips:

Very nice (latest snapshot), great job.
Although I get showing the interface colors, the default colors (red and green) could be interpreted otherwise (like in this case some error on the WAN port).

Until I saw the up/down statistics in your image, I actually thought this.
....and the statistics a quit informative....
...hovering over the color bar reveals some more information.....
What also would be nice if one could give the ports names, like rename "lan1" to "to AP" or "NAS" or......

Sounds confusing to me, but interesting.

The names are defined in the DTS, so at source level, before the build starts, they ideally should correspond to the OEM marking on the case.

this is an excellent idea. Users could change as required, WAN could be name ISP name e.g AT&T fibre etc, and LAN port could be labelled as AP top floor, Joe's PC etc etc.
Thank you, especially for the backport to 23.05.
Using recently compiled master build I have this.
Port lan4 shows 1 GbE but the actual link is 100 Mbps (it was displayed correctly with my previous build).
