Recently I took out again my Huawei EchoLife HG556a (version C), to fumble around with Asterisk, but first I updated it to the latest version, after that I updated asterisk from the commandline and changed to the new default configs, now it doesn't start. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times, but still it doesn't work.

- os version?
- asterisk current vs previous config?
- logread for errors?
that's kinda scary (well new default config on major version change is wise... but expecting that to magically 'start' is problematic)... we are talking about a pretty complex service... so some research, skills(or willingness to acquire), configuration is implied...
note: there is a good guide buried in the community projects sub-forum, but it's likely for an older version perhaps...
