Enabling Wifi on 24.10.0 on the Orange Pi zero 2

I am trying to enable the onboard wifi functionality on my Orange PI Zero 2 but I don't see any options for it in the menu configuration. I don't see it enumerate in the kernel log either when I run the ext4 image.

Is there a menu option somewhere to enable it or do I need some other means to enable wifi?

If I read it correctly, this comes with Allwinner's exotic in-house AW859A WLAN/ BT chipset, which has no mainline driver support and isn't all that likely to ever get supported mainline or in OpenWrt.
