EDUP RT2980 cannot login

Hi All,

As a first time Opernwrter, I am sure there is a simple answers burt cannot, currently, work it out. I bought an AliExpress EDUP RT2980 which was running Openwrt. I logged on when I first turned it on and took a backup so I know it was running Openwrt.

Mainstream support was added here - https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/19534 but I didn't trust the version installed so wanted to installed the mainstream current release.

I have the 112m version (with Luci GUI) and installed the [creatlentem_clt-r30b1-112m-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin] from https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/targets/mediatek/filogic/ . It all installed fine but I could not access 192.168.0.1 from an internet browers. I read that GUI support may not natively be there so i was trying to SSH on to it following https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-quick-start/sshadministration and it came up with the Key error mentioned. I added the key in any event as suggested.

I simply cannot add a password to log in. The device came with no password (i was able to log in, take the back up and flash the new firmware) but I cannot seem to add no password when SSH, it just keeps saying "Permission Denied, Please try again". All i can see is that the default openwrt password is also blank, but nothing seems to work.

I should add i've tried the recovery option and that also didn;t allow any web brower gui.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

It is ssh on 192.168.1.1 , no luci on snapshot.

Sorry i meant 192.168.1.1. I've even got pictures showing that is what i was doing. For some reason, and i honestly am not sure why, today it worked without the need for a password. Perhaps i wasn't running Powershell as admin? Not sure, but no need for any further assistance as yet. Thanks!
