Not too technically inclined... Just received the OpenWRT One, have not setup/connected it. I know it's a Chinese made router, OpenWRT installed also, I guess. What's the easiest/fastest check/procedure to make sure hardware/software has not been tampered with?
Just install the latest official OpenWrt firmware (25.12.2 as of right now). Don't keep settings and you'll have a completely default installation.
Will upgrading do the same?
Yes... I meant upgrade (and don't keep settings). You'll want to upgrade anyway to make sure you're on the latest.
