Hello again.
Looking to flash openwrt on my EAP265-HD
Which I think is similar to EAP245 V3
[OpenWrt Wiki] TP-Link EAP245 v3
I found this but there was no mention if the 2nd ethernet port can be reconfigured
(instead of it being always bridged to the 1st ethernet port )
https://forum.openwrt.org/t/adding-openwrt-support-for-tp-link-eap245
I am looking to connect a wired device to the 2nd port, intended for a specific VLAN.
Before I take the leap, could someone confirm please?
Aside from using firmware on a different model device (which is not generally supported)...
...yes, you can reconfigure Ethernet ports in OpenWrt to different VLANs, etc.

As a beginner, that phrase scares me.
I guess the advice is to not go through with it (and just get a device with known openwrt support)?

this is correct in general, but for this specific device it appears to be identical hardware with different labels ...
The EAP265 HD is a rebadged EAP245v3, so images are compatible with both
devices.

It will run the same OpenWrt build as 245v3.
A device with more than one Ethernet port will initially set up one as wan and one as lan. You can reconfigure them later. Ath79 is still on swconfig.
