EA8300 not showing for clients

If you had 22.03.2 installed, and wish to upgrade to 22.03.6, I believe you have to use the squashfs-sysupgrade.bin, not the squashfs-factory.bin

https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/ea8300#installation

Your other option is if LInksys fw is still available on the other partition, I would use the power cycling method to return to booting from Linksys. Then 'start from scratch' by installing 22.03.5 or 22.03.6 squashfs-factory.bin.

Regarding your earlier posts,

config wifi-device 'radio1'

      option disabled '1'

I noticed above setting for the wifi config for the 2.4 GHz and one of the 5 GHz radios appear to be disabled? ie. turned off. Only the second 5 GHz radio is enabled and operating on channel 100. Perhaps the devices which can't see the EA8300 only supported 2.4 GHz?

OK, update via sysupgrade.bin worked perfectly, got me to current version. I have the network up now, I'll have to test it when I can switch out for current network. Thanks so much mate!

Good day sir. Can i ask a question. Can you directly install the latest version 23.05.2 Through OEM GUI of ea8300?i have increased the kernel partition size already.thanks

fwiw, 23.05.2 factory.bin installed from linksys GUI should work if you previously ran OpenWrt 22.03.5+ and increased the kernsize setting.

The worse that could happen is you soft brick the router. I would think you can then use the Recovery (Automatic) method to return to booting Linksys GUI.

I have installed Version: SNAPSHOT (r24939- 0b498c3c3f) but i advance reboot it and go
back to stock. Do you mean i will upgrade it via sysupgrade.bin in openwrt firmware? I don't want the stock firmware to be overwritten. Can you please help?thanks

Installing 23.05.2 factory.bin from linksys stock fw GUI 'should be' ok, provided kernsize has been previously increased when using OpenWrt 22.03.5+. Linksys fw will not be overwritten if you do not wish to touch that partition.

I don't know your version of snapshot. In theory, you should be able to use it to change the kernsize.

Are you aware you can install linksys stock firmware with LuCI from openwrt 22.03.5 or later. You can use Recovery (Automatic) method to switch between partitions. (Corrected)
