lots of good work has been done, I think its a shame that as a wireless AP I am struggling to get good stability from the dl-wrx36, I am having to restart the radio very often on both of my APs and yesterday I had an error that required a full reboot (got invalid regdomain error from ath11k when restarting the radio -- this went away with a reboot).
I pretty much get the error flushing queue message within minutes on my network but its unclear when that crosses over to affecting stability vs. when its ok to carry on, if I were to detect that and restart the radio then it would restart tens of times per day.
I am going to go back to basics, review which firmware I have vs. whats available, double check best advice, etc. but I am worried that I just need to ebay the devices and move on, or pop them on a shelf for 12 months in the hope these ath11k issues are resolved somehow.
Edit: I have these builds at the moment, let me know your thoughts
AP1:
OpenWrt 23.05.2, r23630-842932a63d
ath11k c000000.wifi: fw_version 0x290c84a5 fw_build_timestamp 2023-03-25 07:34 fw_build_id WLAN.HK.2.9.0.1-01385-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1
AP2:
OpenWrt SNAPSHOT, r25978-ea609fe486
ath11k c000000.wifi: fw_version 0x290604a5 fw_build_timestamp 2023-10-12 02:06 fw_build_id WLAN.HK.2.9.0.1-01977-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1
01977 looks to be the most recent upstream?
edit: I just moved one of the APs to non-DFS in the 5ghz band, the other was already on ch52, maybe that will help
interesting thread re: failed to flush error:
which cites this patch :
OK and looking at my logs I get failed to flush after an STA disconnect (normally a few seconds later) so maybe there is a timeout before the error. And because I am running 2 of these DL-WRX36 one at either end of the property on the same SSID, I can see iphones regulary skipping from one AP to the other. I wonder if I was just running one, I would have this less often.
