Dumb AP without LUCI

I have an old router with 4/32.MB memory and Openwrt without LUCI. I'm trying to connect it to another router via LAN so to have internet. I changed the IP to 192.168.1.3 (1 and 2 already used) so ping is ok but there is no internet. Can you help to configure the rest of /etc/config/network?
Thank you!

If you're talking about the AP itself not having internet (but wireless clients do have normal access), that's really not that critical and you don't need to fix it. However, if you want to correct that issue, just add the gateway and dns to the lan network config stanza.

That said, you should consider upgrading your hardware so you can run a modern OpenWrt version. There are many unpatched security vulnerabilities in older versions, and some of those include wifi issues like the KRACK bug. Obviously the router you have, and the firmware on it, is already unsupported and has been for a while.

Thank you for the explanation and the advice... Yes, I'm aware of the inappropriate hardware and the unsupported Openwrt. I just wanted to experiment a bit and see what I'm capable of... It's not a router I will use for everyday activities.
Yes, I can connect to the router WiFi but still no internet. The gateway is set as 192.168.1.1 (the main router), than I have a second one with dd-wrt as a wifi repeater, and to this I connect via LAN the old one.
But how do I set the DNS?

the client's DNS IP shouldn't come from the AP, but the main router....
