Does Mediatek offer linux driver downloads?

Hi there!

Does Mediatek offer linux driver downloads, from a github source or webpage that we can download and test?

Thanks!

mt76 is found at kernel.org.

Ah thank you!
Tbh I already downloaded a linux-6.12.1.tar.gz last night
But is that the only source for mediatek drivers ?

Does mediatek not have its own github source where linux/driver developers can download the drivers to implement it into their linux distributions?

Not that is available to the public. Their closed source drivers are closed and only available to mediatek customers

Mediatek keeps their openwrt-based sdk on a public git server. Google is your friend.
We could help you better if you explain problem you want to solve.

@Axkman which drivers are you referring to? what is your device.

I am looking for recent versions of mt7921u (mt7921au) (or mt76 because mt7921u is part of mt76) drivers.

Just like I found updated 8152-usb drivers to implement into my openwrt build, I am trying to find mt7921u drivers to see if i can put them into my openwrt build. Because I'm having issues with dfs not working with current mt7921u drivers (another topic) and hoping that with more recent drivers that the dfs part will be working.

I googled and searched on this forum till my mind went numb and thats why I opened this topic. To ask if anyone knows if mediatek has a public (github?) source where I can get my hands on recent mediatek drivers.

Mind to post

From your OpenWRT device?

Sorry, Brada, thats offtopic.

In this topic I am asking for information about mediatek driver download location.

well that is just my opinion, usb device are never a good idea under wrt. the only reason to use usb device is for monitor mode. if you need a stable long run situation, you ll not be happy.

It defenitely has downsides going with usb wifi adapters over sdio/pci-e dcdb multi antanna wifi modules with support for hardware offloading etc. But as a hobby project I want to make a router of my raspberry and want to make the best of it

Anyway I think I found what I'm looking for. In buildroot mac80211-regular/backports-6.11.2 folder in the maintainers file I found the url for mediatek mt76 driver: git https://github.com/nbd168/wireless

I dont know if it will fix things but atleast I found what I was looking.
