In reply to Adding Dnsmasq 2.90 and just for completion if anybody searches for Dnsmasq 2.90, it was added today:
Awesome! Thank you so much for the info and for the update
If possible, please review this cherry-pick PR of Dnsmasq 2.90 so that it can be added for 23.05: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/14853
Was already reviewed by others
Yes, awesome! It's already approved and the update for Dnsmasq 2.90 now shows in Luci > System > Software > Updates on existing 23.05.2 as well.
Thank you so much again!
Updating to dnsmasq 2.90 on 23.05.2 running on x86_64, I get:
xg-135r3 in ~ # opkg install dnsmasq-full

The dnsmasq 2.90 seems to work fine despite that, anyone else has this problem with libubus?
i've a few devices on production with 23.05.x, do I need to update this package? or I can wait until next stable version? do I benefit upgrading this dnsmasq right now?
I've already upgraded to it, but I haven't seen that error.
However, I've noticed that you're using the dnsmas-full pkg, and I've only upgraded from the standard Dnsmasq.
Either way, seems to be working good.
There are a few CVE security issues fixed and there are some new options added (like filter-rr that can filter out dns replies that are not A or AAAA).

If you don't use or need any of these features, you could wait for the next update, which seems to be coming relatively soon.
