I have two WiFi APs I am trying to configure. DHCP and DNS are handled by another server on the network, they are simply to be access points.
I have set them to use my local DNS server in every option I can see. One IS able to ping locally defined hosts (i.e. defined on the local DNS server) and the other cannot. This is from wirelessly connected devices. However, from the GUI or SSH terminal, neither can ping the local hosts. In all cases, they have internet connectivity and can ping any internet valid host.
I do not understand why this is, and where they are getting their DNS from. NSLOOKUP gives 127.0.0.1.
I cannot see any difference between the two devices, so why one is able to let connected devices ping internal servers whilst the other can’t I cannot explain.
Any ideas please?
