Difference between two guest wifi setups

Hi there,
can somebody tell me the main differences between the two setups via the LUCI for guest networks? Which is the "better" or maybe more modern way of doing it? Is there any difference for usage?

Setup 1: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/guestwifi/configuration_webinterface?do=
Setup 2: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/guestwifi/guestwifi_dumbap

Cheers

The first link is if your OpenWrt is operating as a normal router -- presumably the main router in your network.

The second link show you how to configure a guest network when the OpenWrt device is operating as a dumb-AP (i.e. not your main router).

thanks for that quick answer.

so if my setup would be like:
www --- router of provider (just for access to www) --- OpenWRT-Router --- wifi (normal and guest)

which setup would be the right one?

If you're not replacing/removing the ISP's router, select the dumbAP version.

ok thanks.
Should I wire the LAN or the WAN-Port oft the OpenWRT-Router to the LAN-Port oft the ISP-Router?

LAN to LAN.

thanks again
