"Device tplink,archer-c7-v5 not supported by this image"

Hi,

Friend of mine has Archer router:

Model: TP-Link Archer C7 v5
Firmware Version: OpenWrt 19.07.5 r11257-5090152ae3 / LuCI openwrt-19.07 branch git-20.341.57626-51f55b5
Architecture: Qualcomm Atheros QCA956X ver 1 rev 0

I've selected him https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/21.02.2/targets/ath79/generic/openwrt-21.02.2-ath79-generic-tplink_archer-a7-v5-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin to install, but he got this warning in flash popup:

Device tplink,archer-c7-v5 not supported by this image Supported devices: tplink,archer-a7-v5 Image check failed.

The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.

Does this mean he needs full reinstall of the firmware, not sysupgrade? But we did full-reinstall, migrated to ath79 architecture in some previous upgrade already, IIRC

This is an image for the A7, not the C7. You have to use this one:

https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/21.02.2/targets/ath79/generic/openwrt-21.02.2-ath79-generic-tplink_archer-c7-v5-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Do not save the configuration during reflash.
