For the other AP I have (Redmi 2100AC), there was this Russian forum where some people built OWRT with the closed source WiFi drivers and it worked like a charm. Do you know if there is also a build for this AIoT 2350? Unfortunately FOSS drivers aren't performing well especially on the 2.4GHz band.

Thank you, but this is for another SoC, AIoT 2350AC has Qualcomm Atheros QCA9563, Qualcomm Atheros QCA9988.
The irony is you're already using QCA's binary blobs. The ath10k driver is a thin layer around those.

I didn't have time to dive deeper into the technical details of the device, the only thing I've noticed is that 2.4GHz speed is way slower than it should be as well as 5GHz when >5 devices are connected. I guess this can be a driver issue, because on the other router I have, I had same symptoms and that was the cause.
Would you mind sharing link to that firmware?
I'd like to test it how it works.
