Can't connect to Fritzbox 4040 after changing IP

I changed the IP address of my interface and now I seem not to be able to connect.

I tried putting the device into failsafe mode. The blinking info light indicates that the box is in failsafe mode. but I can't connect to it. I set my computer's IP to 192.168.1.2 and I still can't ping 192.168.1.1 nor connect via ssh.

What now?

I'd try to reflash it.

Are you connected by Ethernet? The router in question must be directly connected to your computer by Ethernet, and WiFi and/or any other connections should be disabled/unplugged.
