Cannot install package wpad-mesh-openssl

when sending the command 'opkg install wpad-mesh-openssl' , I get an error.

root@OpenWrt:~# opkg install wpad-mesh-openssl
Unknown package 'wpad-mesh-openssl'.
Collected errors:
 * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package wpad-mesh-openssl.

What am I missing?

Did you run opkg update first (see: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/additional-software/opkg#examples)?

Thanks, didn't know I had to do that first. I've allway worked with Centos. Opemwrt is new to me.

The downloaded package list are only kept on RAM (tmpfs), both to reduce wear of the flash chip and to save flash storage requirements. They're lost after each reboot and require a new opkg update, likewise the repos are updated roughly daily, so you'd need to update them regularly anyways.

thank. Good to know that it has to be done on reboots.
