Can openwrt run lxd container

In this I mean

Can I run openWRT bare metal and then install Ubuntu in a container?

It should be possible they share the same kernel version, just a matter of installing the packages right?

I ask because this would make the openWRT the host and therefor allow direct routing, instead of virtualizing the routing, then the guest OS would have the majority of the power while still leaving network priority on the host

I do this with lxc not lxd.

With this setup are you able to use the desktop version of Linux or just the cli
