There is a PR for changes to the NUT (Network UPS Tools) package that is being held up for lack of independent testers (i.e. besides the author of the PR - @cshoredaniel (me)).
If you use the NUT package and are able to test with a SNAPSHOT build, please take a look at, and try out:
I’ve two UPS’es (APC and Eaton) that I can test your patch with, if so desired. Would you have testing instructions (or script) available that I could run, to make sure I’d capture all relevant tests?
@fodiator I haven't got formal test script or instructions. OpenWrt packages tends not to have enough developer time and attention to do get to that level. In this case, what we are looking for is folks with existing configs or setups to either smoke test the changes with their config, or to review the changes and indicate whether the changes work for them.
In particular, the configuration of custom notification messages, and notification methods (SYSLOG, EXEC'ing a script) has breaking changes and we wanted to hear if there as anyone a) actually using that functionality and b) how they felt about the change to how this is configured.
EDIT: Having said that, if more details are required, I will make an effort to make time to write them up.
