Build for Linksys EA9500

I just uploaded the August 8th firmware and it wasn't happy. Thanks for the tip about the wifi button. Saved my life!

This is mine, after flashing with the 08082021:

# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00080000 00020000 "boot"
mtd1: 00100000 00020000 "nvram"
mtd2: 00080000 00020000 "devinfo"
mtd3: 01d00000 00020000 "firmware"
mtd4: 003fffe4 00020000 "linux"
mtd5: 01900000 00020000 "ubi"
mtd6: 01d00000 00020000 "backup"
mtd7: 02e00000 00020000 "system"

Quite different from the one of @3rr0r . At least, is missing the failsafe being renamed as backup.

yes, I need to change the instructions going forward and make it backup

Would you mind sharing also your .config file, for compiling through your repo meanwhile?

Not sure why but wireless isn't showing up with this version. I reset a few times.

From the 08082021 to the 09082021 did you revert from kernel 5.10 to 5.4?

Was that the root cause for the LAN breaking?

I think 5.10 is not ready for primetime yet on this platform.

what is the output of this dmesg | grep brcmfmac

Here they are, the:

System log: https://pastebin.com/zirDcd4e
Kernel log: https://pastebin.com/zirDcd4e
Wireless config: https://pastebin.com/hfNEnwV2

The wireless is mad. I set a said channel and power output (10 mW) and it defaults to random values on both or does not start the radio at all. All in the 5GHz radios.

This is consistent within this build, 21.02-rc4 and today's snapshot.

European EA9500 v1 router.

Nothing comes up at all. I am on the US version.

That is very strange. Are sure you are running Aug 9th build? Can you provide system and kernel logs?

Make sure you follow wireless instructions here:

  • Make sure to set country code: United States: US, World: EU
  • 5Ghz Radios:
    • radio0 and radio2 - stick to 40Mhz bandwidth
    • radio0 stick to lower bands (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64)
    • radio2 stick to higher bands (136,140,144,153,157,161,165)

Double check for blocked wifi channels with iw list command. Also, do not change power before you get stable wifi channel.

`

I'm using the country "PT", since there is no one just "EU".

radio0 + radio2: 40MHz on both + channel 52 + channel 136 (both with no wifi neighbours and no radars around, checked consistently with my other EA7500)

Config: https://pastebin.com/hfNEnwV2

Some real weirdness going on. Whenever I loaded up the firmware through the web interface it wouldn't work (wireless wasn't there and LAN wasn't getting internet). I loaded it through WinSCP and it looks like it is working properly. I will keep you posted.

I'm using no "blocked" or "disabled" channels:

radio0 + radio2: 40MHz on both + channel 52 + channel 136

52 is radar detection and so is 136

Yes, almost all have radar detection. So what? My EA7500 with Openwrt operates flawlessly on these channels, with full 80MHz bandwidth.

Could you make an experimental build with the broadcom 10.10.122.x driver to test its possible benefits?

Where do you find 10.10.122.x? Does it come with latest EA9500 factory firmware?
