The basic OpenWrt doesn't implement an "Internet LED"-- like some stock firmware does where it will ping a place on the Internet (usually the manufacturer's site) and turn on the LED if the "Internet is working".
Especially if you're not using the DSL modem, the function of the globe or flying saucer LED is not defined. There is a LED configuration where you likely can change it.
